Wipro Ltd announced on November 25 the appointment of Omkar Nisal as the chief executive officer of its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU), effective immediately. Nisal will report to CEO and MD Srini Pallia and join the Wipro executive board. He succeeds Pierre Bruno and will continue to be based in London.
A Wipro veteran since 2012, Nisal has earned a reputation as a trusted client advisor and leader of high-performing teams. Notably, he led Wipro’s banking-EMEA business, partnering with financial institutions across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on digital transformation initiatives, focusing on customer journey redesign, enterprise engineering, and AI-led automation.
Previously, as senior vice president and managing director for the UK and Ireland business, he managed operations worth over $1 billion.
An honours graduate in computer science, Nisal remains a passionate technologist, holding patents in areas like channels, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection.
