Sunder Balasubramanian to exit Myntra as Chief Marketing Officer

Sunder Balasubramanian, Chief Marketing Officer at Myntra, has announced his departure from the fashion e-commerce platform after nearly four years. His exit marks the end of a tenure during which he led key aspects of Myntra’s marketing, customer growth and brand strategy.
At Myntra, Balasubramanian oversaw customer and user growth along with full-funnel marketing spanning brand, performance, acquisition, loyalty, creative and catalogue functions. His tenure also saw a strong focus on creator-led campaigns and engagement with Gen Z audiences, an increasingly important consumer segment for digital fashion platforms.
Announcing his departure, Balasubramanian said that the week marked his last at Myntra after “close to four incredible years.” He thanked Myntra’s leadership, as well as the marketing, customer, creative and communications teams, for their collaboration during his time with the company.
Balasubramanian brings more than two decades of experience across consumer technology, FMCG and advertising. Before joining Myntra, he served as Head of International Marketing at Coupang, where he worked on launches in Taiwan and Japan. He previously held marketing leadership roles at Disney+ Hotstar and spent more than a decade with Colgate-Palmolive India across several marketing and commercial positions.
Earlier in his career, he worked with McCann Worldgroup and Goldwire Communications, giving him experience across both agency and brand-side marketing.
Balasubramanian has not yet disclosed his next professional move, saying he is excited about what comes next and that it is “a story for later.” He also indicated that he would continue to support the Myntra team.
His departure comes as digital commerce companies continue to refine their approaches to customer acquisition, brand building and engagement in an increasingly competitive market.
