Bhavna Singh joins EssilorLuxottica India as Head of Corporate Communications

Bhavna Singh has joined EssilorLuxottica India as Head – Corporate Communications, Greater India, taking charge of the company’s communications mandate in India as the global eyewear and vision care group continues to strengthen its regional leadership structure.
Singh will be responsible for shaping and strengthening EssilorLuxottica’s corporate narrative in India in alignment with the group’s global communication strategy. Her remit will extend beyond conventional corporate communications to include reputation management, public affairs, and strategic advocacy.
She will work under Venu Ambati, President – Greater India, who took charge of the regional business earlier this year. Ambati succeeded Narasimhan Narayanan, who retired after leading the organisation in India for 12 years.
Singh joins EssilorLuxottica from Bharat Serums and Vaccines (BSV), a Mankind Group company, where she served as Vice President, Corporate Communications. Her experience at BSV gave her a strong focus on healthcare communications, an area closely connected to EssilorLuxottica’s broader vision-care business.
Her professional career spans more than 25 years, with experience across corporate communications and reputation management. Singh’s public professional profile describes her as a communications professional with more than two decades of experience in reputation management.
Over the course of her career, she has worked on corporate reputation, strategic communications, healthcare communication, stakeholder engagement, and communications programmes. Her work has also received recognition from industry bodies, including Exchange4Media, Reputation Today, and the World Women Leadership Congress.
The new role comes at an interesting point for EssilorLuxottica in India. The company operates across lenses, eyewear, and vision-care solutions, with a portfolio that includes global brands as well as retail and professional channels. Its Indian business is part of a larger regional structure covering the Greater India market.
For Singh, the mandate therefore involves communicating a business that sits at the intersection of healthcare, technology, consumer brands, retail, and changing attitudes towards eye health.
The public affairs component of her role is also significant. As companies in healthcare and consumer-facing industries increasingly engage with regulators, policymakers, industry bodies, employees, investors, consumers, and the wider public, corporate communications is becoming closely connected to how organisations explain their role and build institutional trust.
Singh’s appointment follows the elevation of Ambati to the Greater India leadership role and adds a senior communications voice to the regional leadership team.
Her immediate challenge will be to bring EssilorLuxottica’s global narrative closer to the Indian market while ensuring that its corporate reputation reflects the company’s evolving ambitions in the region.
The appointment also highlights the expanding role of senior communications leaders. Increasingly, the function encompasses much more than media relations, with reputation, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and strategic advocacy becoming integral to how large organisations operate in complex markets.
