Anuj Poddar is appointed as head of Global Portfolio Solutions for Asia at Carlyle 

Carlyle has appointed Anuj Poddar, the former CEO of Bajaj Electricals, as the new head of Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) for Asia, according to a company announcement. 

In his new role, Mr. Poddar will collaborate closely with Carlyle Asia’s country investment advisory teams, Janine Feng, Carlyle Asia’s Vice Chair overseeing value creation strategies and initiatives, and Richard Elder, the global head of GPS in the US. Together, they will work to drive transformational change and enhance performance across Carlyle’s portfolio companies. 

Before joining Bajaj Electricals, Poddar was part of the leadership team at Viacom 18 Media in India, where he was instrumental in the company’s growth, including its successful expansion into mass entertainment and international markets. At Viacom 18 Media, he also directed strategy for MTV Networks Asia across Southeast Asia and China from Singapore. 

Earlier in his career, Poddar spent nearly a decade at KPMG and Arthur Andersen, providing consulting, M&A, and other services to companies across various sectors.
