Zomato debuts ‘Book Now, Sell Anytime’ with Dua Lipa concert

Zomato is set to make a splash in the entertainment world with an exciting double announcement. On November 30th, 2024, Mumbai will play host to the highly anticipated Zomato Feeding India Concert (ZFIC), where the globally renowned British singer Dua Lipa will perform live for the first time in India.

This concert, a charitable event organized by Zomato, aims to raise significant funds to combat hunger across the country. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations will support various food relief initiatives, marking it as a night of music with a powerful purpose.

But that’s not all Zomato has in store. As the company continues to innovate beyond its core food delivery business, it’s launching a groundbreaking feature called ‘Book Now, Sell Anytime,’ designed to offer unparalleled flexibility for concertgoers. Set to debut on September 30th, this new tool allows users to resell their tickets directly through the Zomato app if their plans change. Whether life throws a curveball or plans simply shift, this feature provides an easy and stress-free way for users to manage their bookings.

The ‘Book Now, Sell Anytime’ feature is poised to transform how people attend events. Once a user purchases a ticket, they can list it for resale at a price of their choosing, with the flexibility to set it above or below the original purchase price. However, Zomato has put safeguards in place, capping the resale price at twice the current phase price. For example, if a ticket was initially purchased for Rs. 1000 and the current phase price is Rs. 2000, the seller can list it for up to Rs. 4000.

The process is designed to be seamless and secure. Once a ticket is sold, Zomato automatically cancels the original ticket and issues a new one to the buyer, ensuring a smooth transition. The seller then receives the full resale amount, minus applicable taxes, through their preferred payment method.

Zomato’s entry into live entertainment doesn’t stop there. The company is also expanding its footprint by acquiring Paytm’s events business, further solidifying its presence in the sector. With these strategic moves, Zomato is not just feeding India but also feeding the country’s appetite for entertainment, blending social impact with innovation
