Akshay Kumar out? Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 reportedly features Kartik Aaryan 

With Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, it looks like the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise is set to take another step forward. Reportedly, producer Bhushan Kumar has already started working on the script of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, with Kartik in a pivotal role as Rooh Baba.  

If reports are to be believed, director Anees Bazmee is also considering returning to the franchise, after successfully directing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. While the discussions are likely to be in progress, the deal is yet to be finalized.  

According to the reports, Bhushan Kumar along with his creative team has already started working on ideas for the next part of the horror-comedy franchise. Kartik is also believed to be taking active part in the discussions as the team is trying to develop an entirely new story for the next chapter featuring Rooh Baba. 

This is indeed very important news since it coincides with the fact that the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise became one of Bollywood’s biggest horror-comedy brands. While the original film that came out in 2007 was led by Akshay Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, the franchise making a comeback in 2022 was after Kartik Aaryan starred in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and reprised the role again in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, thereby becoming synonymous with the latest generation of the series.  

Interestingly enough, Anees Bazmee is working on one more project featuring Akshay Kumar and is likely to start off with the scripting and pre-production of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, once the said film is finished. Reports indicate that the makers of the project are planning to commence the shooting in the second half of 2027 since negotiations will be successfully completed by then.   

The makers of the franchise have not made any announcement regarding Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, but buzz is that the Bhool Bhulaiyaa saga is not over yet. Reports indicate that Kartik Aaryan will reprise the role of Rooh Baba and Anees Bazmee seems set to continue his fruitful collaboration with the series in the near future.  

At present, the project is in a development stage.
