Mahindra Group appoints Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer

The Mahindra Group is strengthening its strategic leadership with the appointment of Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026. Arya will lead the Group Strategy Office and become part of the Group Executive Board as well as the Senior Management of Mahindra & Mahindra.

In her new role, Arya will work across Mahindra’s diverse portfolio to identify new growth opportunities, unlock value, and help shape the Group’s long-term strategic direction. She will report to Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director.

Arya joins Mahindra from Cummins India, where she served as Managing Director. During her tenure, she focused on driving business growth while strengthening customer relationships, developing talent and building an inclusive organisational culture.

With more than two decades of experience spanning business leadership, strategy and consulting, Arya has worked across sectors including automotive, travel, financial services and telecommunications. Before joining Cummins India, she led strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions at Thomas Cook India and held multiple roles with Kearney and Infosys.

Her academic background combines technology and management, with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Information Technology from the University of Delhi, followed by an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA).

For Mahindra, Arya’s appointment comes at a pivotal stage in the Group’s growth journey, as it continues to scale businesses across mobility, technology, financial services, renewable energy, logistics, hospitality and real estate. Her blend of strategic thinking, operational leadership and cross-industry experience is expected to add depth to the Group’s approach to identifying new opportunities and creating long-term value.
