Applications Open for Mahatma Phule Loan Schemes

Mumbai, July 15: The District Office of the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation (MPBCDC), Mumbai City and Suburban, has invited eligible beneficiaries to apply online for its self-employment schemes for the financial year 2026–27. The schemes include the 50% Subsidy Scheme, Seed Capital Scheme, and Direct Loan Scheme.

The Corporation implements these initiatives to promote economic empowerment and social upliftment of members of the Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhist communities under the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jati Abhyuday Yojana. The schemes aim to encourage entrepreneurship, generate self-employment opportunities, and improve the standard of living of beneficiaries.

Eligible applicants can submit their online applications through https://mpbcdc.maharashtra.gov.in⁠. or https://mahadisha.in⁠ Applicants must upload all required documents along with the application, as incomplete applications or those without supporting documents will not be considered.

Under the 50% Subsidy Scheme, projects with a total cost of ₹50,000 are eligible for ₹25,000 subsidy from the Corporation and ₹25,000 bank loan. The scheme supports small businesses, micro-enterprises, and livelihood-generating activities.

The Seed Capital Scheme covers projects costing between ₹50,001 and ₹5 lakh. The Corporation provides up to 20% assistance (maximum ₹50,000 subsidy plus ₹50,000 seed capital), while banks finance 75% of the project cost at prevailing interest rates. Beneficiaries contribute 5%, and the loan repayment period ranges from three to five years.

Under the Direct Loan Scheme, eligible beneficiaries can avail loans of up to ₹1 lakh at an annual interest rate of 4%. The project cost is ₹1 lakh, with the Corporation providing 50% subsidy (up to ₹50,000), 45% direct loan (₹45,000), and the beneficiary contributing 5% (₹5,000).

The District Manager has urged all eligible beneficiaries to submit their online applications within the prescribed timeline to avail themselves of these government-supported self-employment schemes.
