Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the success of the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana as it completed 11 years since its launch, stating that the initiative has significantly empowered youth through self-employment.
The Prime Minister noted that the scheme stands as a testament to the transformative power of opportunity, emphasizing that when individuals are given the right support, they not only become self-reliant but also contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.
Sharing his thoughts on X, the Prime Minister wrote that the MUDRA scheme has proven highly effective in fostering entrepreneurship among the youth. He reiterated that its success underscores how access to opportunity can enable individuals to achieve self-reliance while simultaneously driving national development.
On the occasion, he also shared a Sanskrit *subhashita* (aphorism) highlighting the qualities of a truly wise individual:
*“Atma-jnanam samarambhah titiksha dharma-nityata;
Yam artha na apakarshanti sa vai pandita uchyate.”*
Explaining its essence, the Prime Minister said that a truly learned person is one who possesses self-awareness, is committed to constructive action, remains resilient in adversity, upholds ethical conduct consistently, and is not swayed by greed or material temptations.
