Women as the transformational symbol for the 7th International Day for Women and Girls in Science.

The United States has planned to do something different on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. They have taken a single source that unites people worldwide: water. The main theme of the 7th International Day of Women and Girls in Science celebration this year is “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Water Unites us.” Looking deeper into the theme of this year, Water is the only source of life that unites all the people across the world. Thus, having access to clean and safe drinking water is the basic right of all the people around the world.

According to the research and studies conducted by the United States, by 2030, billions of people across the world will be unable to access clean drinking water, proper sanitation, and hygienic facilities if the present management of the water resources continues at a similar pace. The water demand is more than the water resources available. This is the result of poor management of water resources and failure in the conservation of natural water resources. Thus, the rising demand for proper drinking water and poor management demands sustainable management and goal.

Taking the matter seriously, the United States has decided to support a sustainable goal for water management in the hands of women and girls around the world. The 7th International Day of Women and Girls in Science Assembly is set to conduct a virtual event at the New York (headquarter to help encourage different women and girls in the scientific field to take charge of the growing concerns for Water. This initiative would help represent women as a symbol of empowerment and as a medium of change and transformation based on the UN’s 6th Sustainable Development Goals plan to provide ‘clean Water and sanitation. 

The main objective of the 7th Assembly is to achieve Economic prosperity, Social justice, and Environmental integrity by bringing women and girls from scientific experts, officials from high-level Government entities, corporate sectors, and organizational representatives from around the world. These women will help connect dots to overcome the water crisis around the world through their transformational ideas and practices.

For the first time in history, the event would organize the unique Ebru Water Art Performance for this international event on the 11th of February. All the activities and events would be organized virtually to succeed during the pandemic.

The Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT) and the Permanent Missions from 14 countries coordinate the 7th Assembly. Moreover, the Permanent Missions of the Antora, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Australia, Bhutan, Chile, Ecuador, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Mexico, Nigeria, Republic of Korea, San Marino, and Uzbekistan are the co-sponsors to the United States for the event. Different international organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITC), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and other organizations are also the co-sponsors of this event under the UN.
