  1. Vinod Chaturvedi named CHRO at Shree Cement 

Present: CHRO, Shree Cement | Past: CHRO, Century Group 

Shree Cement has appointed Vinod Chaturvedi as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, effective May 29. Chaturvedi brings over 33 years of extensive experience in Human Resources and Employee Relations across diverse industries such as Manufacturing, Telecom, Stainless Steel, VFY, SFD, and Sponge Iron. With a proven track record in strategic, tactical, and operational HR roles, he is a valuable addition to our leadership team. 

In his new capacity, Chaturvedi will play a pivotal role in formulating Human Resource strategies, driving organizational growth, and providing support to teams to propel Shree Cement’s expansion efforts. 

Prior to joining Shree Cement, Chaturvedi served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Century Group within the Aditya Birla Group (ABG), where he also held the position of Group Employee Relations Head for five years. Additionally, he showcased his versatility and business acumen by leading the Noble Ferro Alloys Business as its Head.

  1. Sharat Sinha appointed CEO of Airtel Business by Bharti Airtel 

Past: Leadership position | Present: CEO, Airtel Business at Bharti Airtel 

Sharat Sinha has been appointed as the CEO of Airtel Business at Bharti Airtel, effective from June 3. With a rich background in technology, Sinha transitions to Airtel Business from his role as President of Asia Pacific at Checkpoint Software Technologies Limited. Prior to this, he held leadership positions at Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and VM Ware. His early tenure at Ericsson and VSNL has also provided him with a solid foundation in the telecommunications sector. 

In his new role, reporting to Gopal Vittal, CEO & MD of Bharti Airtel, Sinha will play a key role as a member of the Airtel Management Board.

  1. Gaurav Banerjee named CEO by Sony Pictures 

Past: CEO, Business Head, Disney Star | Present: CEO, Sony Pictures Networks India 

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the appointment of Gaurav Banerjee as its new chief executive officer. Banerjee takes over from NP Singh, who decided to step down after 25 years at Sony last week. Media reports suggest that Banerjee is expected to assume his new role by August. 

An alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia University and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, Banerjee commenced his career as a journalist. In his most recent position, he served as the CEO of Disney Star. Banerjee reportedly resigned from his role at Disney Star, where he oversaw content for Hindi entertainment and Disney+ Hotstar, as well as serving as the business head for Star Bharat, Hindi & English movies, kids & infotainment, and the regional channels in the east.

Nothing, the London-based consumer tech brand, has appointed Vishal Bhola as President for Nothing India. With a career spanning over 28 years in global business leadership, Vishal brings extensive experience from renowned multinational corporations like Unilever and Whirlpool. 

In his new capacity at Nothing, Vishal is tasked with accelerating the brand’s growth in India, capitalizing on his deep expertise in consumer tech and strategic business management. 

Vishal’s professional journey includes over two decades at Unilever, where he held various significant roles spanning India, South East Asia, the USA, Africa, China, and the global headquarters in London. Following his tenure at Unilever, Vishal Bhola joined Whirlpool as Managing Director, where he was responsible for driving profitability and growth across the Indian subcontinent for Whirlpool Corporation.

Nucleus Software, a leading provider of digital lending and transaction banking solutions to the global financial services industry, has named Swati Patwardhan as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) effective May 20. 

With an extensive background spanning over 19 years in Human Resources, Swati brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position. 

In her fresh role, Swati will oversee the formulation and execution of the company’s global HR strategies, with a focus on attracting, nurturing, and retaining top talent. Her duties will encompass spearheading employee engagement initiatives, nurturing an environment of innovation and inclusivity, and ensuring HR practices are in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

Plum, an insurtech company, has welcomed Priya Sunil as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Armed with a Master’s degree in Applied Social Psychology and boasting 17 years of rich experience in talent management and organizational development, Priya brings a formidable level of expertise to Plum. Prior to her appointment at Plum, Priya held roles at The Akanksha Foundation, Teach For India, and The/Nudge Institute.

  1. Ranjeeka Sachdev Joins Jaquar & Company as CHRO 

Past: General Manager, Human Resource | Present: CHRO, Jaquar and Company 

Jaquar & Company, a leading manufacturer of bathroom and lighting products, has appointed Ranjeeka Sachdev as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). 

Bringing with her 20 years of extensive experience across various domains of human resources including Learning & Development, Work from Home Innovations, Employee Satisfaction & Corporate Social Responsibility, Employer Branding, Global Mobility, Succession Planning, Talent Development, and Business Partnering and People Strategy, Sachdev joins Jaquar & Company. 

Prior to her tenure at Jaquar, Sachdev served as the General Manager – Human Resources at Pernod Ricard India. In her previous capacity, she was accountable for areas such as Inclusion & Diversity, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement, Rewards & Recognition, Employee Policies & Procedures, and Global Collaboration for Pernod Ricard South Asia, in addition to her role as a Business Partner to Corporate and South Asia. 

Sachdev has also held positions at Gap Inc and Yamaha Motor in her previous professional ventures.

  1. Sanjay Sharma Named Chief Financial Officer at Air India 

Past: CFO, Tata Projects Limited | Present: CFO, Air India 

Air India has announced the appointment of Sanjay Sharma as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from June 10. He takes over from Vinod Hejmadi, who is retiring after serving Air India for more than three decades. 

Sharma brings with him over three decades of experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and Real Estate sectors. Prior to joining Air India, he served as the CFO at Tata Projects Limited. Sharma will report directly to Air India’s CEO & MD, Campbell Wilson. 

Before his tenure at Tata Projects, Sharma held the position of CFO at Tata Realty Infrastructure Limited, and he also served as Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank Group. Additionally, he has worked at DSP Merrill Lynch Limited in Mumbai and Merrill Lynch Asia Pacific in Hong Kong, where he held various roles.
