Tata Motors has officially unveiled the prices of the much-anticipated Harrier.ev rear-wheel drive (RWD) variants. Starting at INR 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Adventure 65 and going up to INR 27.49 lakh for the top-end Empowered 75, the Harrier EV is not just a car—it’s a clear signal of Tata’s intent to redefine the EV SUV category.
This is Tata’s first ground-up born-electric SUV to hit the market. Available in multiple RWD trims powered by either a 65kWh or 75kWh battery pack, the Harrier EV delivers a certified range of up to 627km, with an estimated C75 real-world range of 480–505km. That places it among the longest-range electric vehicles in India, while maintaining price parity with premium ICE SUVs.
At the heart of the Harrier EV’s appeal lies its sheer performance. The rear motor puts out 234bhp, and when combined with the front motor in the upcoming QWD variants, the SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Meanwhile, fast-charging technology ensures that 250km of range can be replenished in just 15 minutes using a 120kW DC charger.
What sets the Harrier EV apart isn’t just its range or power—it’s the tech-laden, future-facing SUV experience it offers. Packed with segment-first features such as an auto park function, V2L and V2X capabilities, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera with transparent bonnet view, dual-zone climate control, and a 10-speaker JBL audio system, it brings luxury and utility into one package.
Speaking on the launch, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said,
“With Harrier.ev we intend to unleash the true potential of an SUV—delivering unparalleled supercar-like performance, go-anywhere off-road capability, and indulgent technology with luxurious comfort. What makes the Harrier.ev truly remarkable is that it offers all this at price parity with ICE-powered vehicles, while surpassing them in performance, capability, technology, and safety.”
Indeed, with six drive modes tailored to diverse terrains—Sand, Snow, Rock, Mud/Ruts, Normal, and Custom—the Harrier EV has been built to confidently traverse both the urban jungle and rugged trails. Aiding its off-road credibility is a suite of Off-Road Assist features, including low-speed cruise control and intelligent traction systems.
While the prices for the QWD (dual motor) versions will be announced on June 27 and bookings open from July 2, the RWD launch positions Tata Motors strongly in the competitive electric SUV segment. With a lifetime battery warranty for first-time private owners, Tata is aiming to remove both financial and psychological barriers to EV adoption.
The Harrier EV isn’t just a new chapter for Tata—it could mark a turning point for India’s EV market. By delivering performance, range, luxury, and tech in equal measure—and at a competitive price—it stands to convert a whole new wave of premium car buyers to electric.
