Hypocrisy of the Opposition: Turning its back on Ranchi agitation. Who will Rahul Gandhi ask to resign for the inhuman assault in Ranchi?

Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar’s scathing critique

Raising a sharp question on who ordered the brutal attack on students who were peacefully protesting in Ranchi against the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) paper leak and demanding employment, Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar asked whether Rahul Gandhi would now dare to raise this question, demand someone’s resignation, or step down himself. Launching a scathing attack, he stated that turning one’s face toward the protests at Jantar Mantar while turning one’s back on the agitation in Ranchi exposes the blatant hypocrisy of the opposition. Minister Shelar pointed that students in Ranchi were protesting peacefully, patiently and in a disciplined manner, without using any abusive or derogatory language, yet barbed wire was placed in their path. Tear gas was fired at them and they were ruthlessly lathi-charged. The students were beaten mercilessly as though they were enemies. He termed the incident extremely unfortunate and said no amount of condemnation would be enough. “This government is not merely that of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Rahul Gandhi is leading that government with 16 MLAs and four ministers. So, what stance will Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Hemant Soren take now? Have the opposition shut their ears to this?” he asked.

Adv. Shelar further questioned, “Where is Rahul Gandhi’s concern for students now? Rahul Gandhi, who showed false sympathy in Delhi, why does he not go to wipe the tears of students in Jharkhand? Why are Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray now silent? Why are the doors of ‘Matoshree’ and ‘Shivtirth’ closed for the media? Will Uddhav Thackeray go to Ranchi now? Will the Congress party walk out of the ruling alliance in Jharkhand in protest against the violence inflicted on students? He said the opposition’s professed concern for students was nothing but ‘Pootna Maushi’s love’ (false or insincere affection). The opposition has no real concern for the future of students and are interested in ‘politics of convenience’. “Where their own government uses the police to commit atrocities, they remain silent, and where they see political benefit, they create false controversies,” he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party stands firmly with the youth and students of Jharkhand. The Congress and JMM government must immediately accept the students’ demands. Strongly condemning the brutal treatment on the students in Jharkhand, Adv. Shelar demanded that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party tender an unconditional apology to the youth of the country for their double standards.

“If CJP now takes a stand in support of these students in Jharkhand, they are merely arriving after the event. The students have been protesting for 17 days, yet they were not concerned about the students’ interests. It appears they move only after receiving instructions from those who control them, proving that ‘selective protests’ are their core modus operandi,” stated Adv. Shelar.

*Rahul Gandhi, do not run away from Parliament! Don’t be afraid of a debate!*

Parliament is a place to address people’s issues and find solutions. The opposition, however, does little beyond creating a ruckus there. Rahul Gandhi is repeatedly disrupting the functioning of Parliament, the greatest temple of democracy, by making false statements and spreading incorrect information. His objective is not dialogue or finding a solution but merely creating chaos. That is why he keeps changing his stance every day. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be present in Parliament to respond to the opposition. Be prepared to hear the truth from him. Be prepared to face him. Do not run away; don’t act cowardly, added Adv. Shelar.
