Cristiano Ronaldo shatters YouTube record, acquires 10 million Subscribers in one day 

Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary footballer, made an impressive entrance into the world of YouTube on Wednesday, August 21, with his new channel, ‘UR · Cristiano’. Within hours of its launch, the channel made history, breaking the record for the fastest to reach 10 million subscribers. Ronaldo achieved this milestone in just 10 hours, surpassing the previous record held by MrBeast, who took 132 days to reach the same number. 

Ronaldo’s debut on the platform was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. He attracted one million subscribers within the first 90 minutes, showcasing the immense pull of his global fanbase. In a social media post, Ronaldo announced the launch of his channel with the words, “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.” 

The 39-year-old, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner currently playing for Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, already boasts an enormous following on other social media platforms: 112.6 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), 170 million on Facebook, and an astounding 636 million on Instagram. His swift success on YouTube is yet another testament to his enduring popularity. 

Ronaldo’s YouTube channel features 19 short videos so far, including a special moment where he unveils the ‘Gold Button’ an award from YouTube for reaching one million subscribers in front of his children. With the channel already at 12.4 million subscribers, the prestigious ‘Diamond Button’, awarded at 10 million subscribers, is expected to soon find a place in Ronaldo’s impressive trophy cabinet.
