At Innodata India Pvt. Ltd., empowering women is not just a policy—it is a deeply ingrained cultural value and a strategic business priority. We believe that gender diversity fuels innovation, drives better decision-making, and creates a stronger, more resilient organization. Over the years, Innodata has built an ecosystem where women are not only represented across all levels of the workforce but are also provided with equal opportunities to grow, lead, and make an impact.
This commitment has shaped Innodata into one of the most inclusive, supportive, and empowering workplaces for women, making us a strong contender for the Most Preferred Workplace for Women Award 2025-26.
1. Strong Female Workforce Representation
Women make up more than 46% of Innodata’s workforce, with over 1,028 women employees actively contributing to the company’s success. This balance is not coincidental—it is the result of deliberate policies, recruitment strategies, and retention practices designed to ensure equitable representation at every level.
Our focus on inclusivity has remained consistent over the years.
2. Women in Leadership – Building Role Models
At Innodata, we take pride in having 28 women in leadership roles. These leaders are shaping strategy, guiding teams, and mentoring the next generation of professionals. Their presence not only strengthens decision-making but also provides visible role models who inspire other women to pursue leadership positions.
We actively support women leaders through:
Mentorship programs that connect aspiring leaders with experienced executives.
Succession planning designed to ensure women are equally represented in future leadership pipelines.
Opportunities for visibility, allowing women to lead projects, represent the company at industry forums, and take on high-impact assignments.
3. Gender-Inclusive Culture
Innodata’s culture is built on the principles of respect, equality, and inclusivity. Women are encouraged to take on leadership responsibilities, voice their ideas, and drive innovation. Our policies and practices are designed to create an environment where women thrive both professionally and personally.
Key cultural enablers include:
Mentorship and peer networks that support career progression.
Celebration of achievements through recognition programs that highlight women’s contributions.
Awareness programs to promote gender sensitivity and allyship across all teams.
4. Zero Tolerance on Harassment
Innodata enforces a Zero Tolerance Policy against Sexual Harassment (POSH) to ensure a safe, respectful, and secure workplace for every employee. Through regular awareness sessions, grievance redressal mechanisms, and a strong internal complaints committee, we ensure women have the confidence and assurance to work in an environment free from harassment or discrimination.
5. Flexible Work Policies – Enabling Balance
Recognizing the unique challenges women often face in balancing career and family responsibilities, Innodata has established flexible work arrangements that include:
Remote and hybrid work options.
Flexible working hours.
Extended maternity and parental leave.
Support for returning mothers through smooth reintegration programs.
These policies are not simply benefits—they are enablers that empower women to continue growing professionally without compromising on personal responsibilities.
6. Equal Pay and Recognition
At Innodata, we strongly believe in equal pay for equal work. Our compensation structure undergoes regular reviews to ensure fairness and eliminate bias. Performance appraisals are transparent and based purely on merit, ensuring women are rewarded equitably for their contributions.
Additionally, we have recognition programs dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women across all functions—whether in operations, leadership, or innovation. These recognitions reinforce the message that women’s contributions are both visible and valued.
7. Driving Impact Beyond the Workplace
Innodata’s commitment to women extends beyond our office walls. Through CSR initiatives and awareness campaigns, we focus on issues affecting women in society. For example, in September 2025, we organized an Ovarian Cancer Awareness Session in partnership with Cloudnine Hospital, highlighting the importance of early detection and women’s health. Such initiatives reinforce our commitment to women’s well-being both inside and outside the workplace.

Empowering Women, Shaping Futures
As the first female employee of Innodata India, my journey from a production executive to Associate Vice President is a reflection of the organization’s inclusive and empowering culture. Being recognized as a Most Preferred Workplace for Women is not just an accolade for us, but a testament to the values we live every day.
What makes Innodata unique is its unwavering commitment to creating an environment where women are valued, respected, and given equal opportunities to thrive. From mentorship by senior leaders to flexible policies that enable work-life balance, the company ensures that women can excel both professionally and personally.
I feel fortunate to be guided by a dynamic woman leader who inspires us with her vision and strength. Her leadership, along with the resilience and passion of the women I work alongside, continues to shape a workplace where women confidently pursue long-term careers filled with growth and purpose.
This recognition is more than a milestone—it is a promise to continue building pathways for women to rise as leaders and decision-makers. I take immense pride in being part of a company that truly empowers women to achieve their fullest potential.
Jyoti Narang, Vice President Operations – Medical and Legal & Accounting Verticals, Innodata India Pvt. Ltd.
I have been fortunate to spend over two decades working with global teams and leading operations across diverse regions. At Innodata, I currently oversee two business units—the Medical Summarization BU and the Legal & Accounting Publishing BU serving customers in the US and Europe.
What gives me the greatest sense of fulfillment is the opportunity to mentor and lead more than 400 women across India, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. Many of them have overcome barriers to become the primary earners in their families, and being a part of their journey is truly rewarding.
Over the years, we have introduced initiatives that make a real difference:
Inclusive hiring and training programs that open doors for women from diverse backgrounds.
Post-maternity support, including work-from-home until infants reach 15 months.
Workplace flexibility, where 75% of our female employees now work remotely.
Leadership pathways, resulting in 54% female leaders in quality and production management.
These experiences reaffirm my belief that when women are supported with the right opportunities and flexibility, they not only thrive but also inspire others. For me, this journey is about creating an environment where women can grow, lead, and succeed with confidence.
