Parents often feel discouraged or uninterested in sending their sons to the cricket playing ground, thinking that if they cannot play for Team India, then there is no use of it.

Delhi-based entrepreneur Rohit Sakunia shares in a viral Instagram post that he may not see his son playing for Team India; however, whenever he sees his son playing on the ground, he feels excited, for the sole reason that sport quietly builds leadership, where the chances of his son getting into a leadership role increase by 70%.

Sakunia, founder of Art-e Media Tech and co-founder of InViz AI, further mentions how kids who play regularly grow up making decisions, handling pressure, and working as part of teams. These are the things that are not taught in the classrooms.

Moreover, the health advantage of playing cricket is huge since kids who stay active through sport carry that habit with them into adulthood. They become less prone to lifestyle diseases such as heart problems and diabetes. As noted by Rohit Sakunia, ‘Movement early in life changes the whole trajectory’.

He mentions the other benefits of playing sport early in life, such as mental health getting stronger, reducing stress, and mental stability. Kids get to learn resilience without anyone teaching them about it, whereby they get to learn how to cope with failures and obstacles successfully. Playing sports helps to build confidence, shaping self-identity with each win and appreciation.

Rohit Sakunia concludes in his post that when he sees his son playing cricket, he is not thinking about the blue jersey since the real impact of playing cricket is much bigger.

The post received around 1.8 M views and is currently trending on social media.
