A Delhi-bound Air India flight, operating as Flight 2820, was forced to make an emergency landing on Sunday evening after one of its engines failed midair. The Airbus A320 had taken off from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at approximately 7 pm but returned to the airport after circling the city for about an hour.

According to sources from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the pilot decided to land the aircraft as a precautionary measure. The flight landed safely, with no injuries reported among the passengers or crew.

“The incident occurred the day before yesterday, but we are yet to receive the technical details. The flight made an emergency landing, ensuring the safety of all passengers,” a source told Marksmen Daily. The exact cause of the engine failure is under investigation.

In another aviation development, a Turkish Airlines flight en route from Istanbul to Colombo was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Tuesday morning due to adverse weather in Sri Lanka’s capital. The flight, carrying 299 passengers and 10 crew members, landed safely at 6:51 am. The passengers are expected to continue their journey once the weather conditions improve.
