NEET Re-Exam Result Upheld by High Court

All Four Petitions Dismissed; Fine of 5,000 Each for False Claims

Mumbai, July 30: The Aurangabad Bench of the Mumbai High Court has dismissed petitions filed by four students alleging errors in the NEET re-examination results and upheld the accuracy of the results declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA). After examining the original answer sheets, the court confirmed that there were no discrepancies in the evaluation and imposed a cost of 5,000 on each petitioner for making unsubstantiated claims.

The cases were heard by a division bench comprising Justice Nitin B. Suryavanshi and Justice A.D. Shinde. The petitioners had alleged irregularities in the marking process of the NEET re-exam and claimed that the NTA had published incorrect results.

To verify these allegations, the court summoned the original answer sheets of the concerned students from Delhi in sealed envelopes. The bench personally examined the documents, and the students, their parents, and their lawyers were also given the opportunity to inspect them. After a detailed review, the court found a complete match between the entries in the answer sheets and the results declared by the NTA.

The court observed that the allegations of errors in the results were not supported by facts. Consequently, all four petitions were dismissed, and the court ordered a cost of 5,000 to be imposed on each petitioner.

In this case, Advocate Rohit Sarvagya, appearing for the Government of India and the National Testing Agency, made strong and effective submissions. He presented the original answer sheets before the court and demonstrated the accuracy of the results. The court, after verification of the records, confirmed that there were no errors or discrepancies in the NTA’s evaluation.

The judgment sends a significant message that examination authorities’ results cannot be challenged merely on allegations, and that judicial verification of original answer sheets and official records holds the highest importance. The decision also marks a successful outcome for Advocate Rohit Sarvagya, who effectively represented the NTA and proved the correctness of the results before the court.
