Farmers Without Names on 7/12 Records to Get Official Status: Path Cleared for ‘AgriStack’ and Loan Waivers!

Historic Decision by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule; 2,31,000 Farmers to Receive Direct Benefits of Crop Loans and Government Schemes!

Mumbai: Thousands of farmers across Maharashtra have been cultivating land for generations, yet they have remained deprived of various government schemes simply because their names were not listed on the 7/12 land extract documents. However, the farming community is finally set to get relief from this administrative red tape! Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has taken a major and historic decision to officially record all genuine farmers in the state whose names are missing from the 7/12 extract or other land record entries.

Major Relief for 2,31,000 Farmers; 15-Day Deadline Set for Submission of Reports

This decision by the Revenue Minister clears the way for 2,31,000 farmers in the state to receive their ‘AgriStack’ (Digital Farmer Registry) profiles, making it possible for them to access crop loans and loan waiver benefits directly.

A high-level meeting recently revealed the critical issue that 2,31,000 farmers in the state were unable to obtain their ‘AgriStack’ registration due to various administrative and technical hurdles. In the state, approximately 50,000 farmers have passed away, but their land records have not been updated. Additionally, in around 10,000 cases, the land remains registered under the father’s name, while the sons who actually cultivate the land do not have their names on the 7/12 extract.

To put an end to this struggle faced by farmers, Revenue Minister Bawankule has issued strict directives to the administration to prepare a standardized format and instructed all District Collectors to submit a detailed report on the matter within 15 days. A meeting with all District Collectors will be convened shortly to issue final orders.

Special Provisions for Devasthan, Inam, and Watan Lands; Alternative Solutions for Technical Glitches

Farmers cultivating Devasthan (temple trust), Kabulayatdar, Inam, or Watan lands will not be left behind under this decision either. A ‘Special Form’ is being created to ensure these farmers receive full access to all government benefits and facilities. This will prove to be a major help in generating ‘AgriStack’ profiles for these farmers in the future.

The Revenue Department has also assured that for farmers whose ‘AgriStack’ registrations are stalled purely due to technical reasons, alternative solutions will be derived by accepting other valid supporting documents and proof.
