Sidharth Shakdher, formerly the EVP and Chief Marketing Officer at Disney+ Hotstar, has recently assumed the role of Global Chief Business Officer at ANI Technologies (Ola Mobility), according to sources familiar with the matter.
In his new capacity, Shakdher will oversee Ola’s revenue, growth, and marketing endeavors, both domestically in India and on the global front. This encompasses the management of established mobility businesses and the exploration of new sectors such as e-commerce. He will be responsible for leading various functions, including growth, marketing, and new initiatives across Ola’s global operations.
Shakdher played a crucial role in the founding leadership team of Disney+ Hotstar, where he spearheaded marketing, international growth, and the D2C business. His eight-year tenure witnessed the transformation of Hotstar into India’s largest premium video streaming platform and the country’s largest D2C subscription business. Notably, he set numerous live streaming world records during his tenure.
Having joined Hotstar in 2016 as the Senior Vice President and Growth Head, Shakdher ascended to the position of EVP and CMO in January 2021. Prior to his role at Hotstar, he held key positions such as leading marketplace and category marketing for Amazon in the US and driving innovations for Reckitt Benckiser’s flagship brand Dettol in North America.
With a wealth of experience spanning over two decades, Shakdher has also contributed to companies like Xerox, HP, Canon, and Samsung in various capacities throughout his career.
