There has been steady excitement about ‘Cocktail 2’, and there is much anticipation to see what Kriti Sanon will offer fans this go-around. Many are intrigued about this project based on the franchise name alone, but there is another reason for the elevated interest level; Kriti is no longer just one of the top stars of the Bollywood industry, she is now also a National Award winner who continues to stretch the boundaries of her range with each successive project.

Kriti Sanon has slowly built a noteworthy body of work throughout her career, balancing commercial success with artistry. With audiences looking forward to seeing more of her talent at the next installment of ‘Cocktail’, (slated to release on June 19), we would like to highlight some standout performances by Kriti to date.

Mimi (2021)

If there is one film that changed Kriti Sanon’s career path, that film would be 2021’s ‘Mimi’. Sanon portrays a young woman who decides to be a surrogate for a couple looking to have a child but also provides a strong comedic, emotional, and vulnerable performance. At each stage of the progression of her character, you see a believable transformation that led Sanon to be nominated for an award for her work and receive the National Film Award for Best Actress for this role. Since then, this film has been the marker against which many of her performances have been evaluated.

Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017)

Released only two years before ‘Mimi’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ continued to prove Kriti’s ability to play a character with both confidence and charm. As the feisty Bitti Mishra, a determined small-town girl wanting to live life on her own terms, Kriti displayed personality and freshness in her role. The film had some very memorable characters, but Bitti is still among the most popular.

Crew (2024)

It is not easy to appear in the same film as veteran actors such as Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu, but Kriti made her mark in ‘Crew’. The Comedy Heist was a great vehicle for Kriti to combine her humour, glamour and great timing for comedy. It was one of the biggest box office hits of the year and showed once again that Kriti was able to excel in an ensemble cast.

Do Patti (2024)

‘Do Patti’ was one of Kriti’s toughest acting jobs up to this point. She starred opposite Kajol and played two completely different characters (double role) in the same story. This Netflix thriller allowed Kriti to explore a very dark emotional side of herself as well as demonstrate a maturity that audiences had never seen from her before.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024)

In the film ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, Kriti Sanon portrays Sifra, an advanced humanoid robot who becomes the object of a man’s affection. Although there are many comedic and romantic elements to this film based on its futuristic concept, Kriti’s performance adds warmth and personality to a character that could have easily felt mechanical. She provides humour and charm while balancing subtle emotions throughout her performance so that the audience can believe that Sifra is a real person.

As we prepare to see Kriti Sanon take her next step in ‘Cocktail 2’, these performances can serve as a reminder of the progress she has made as an actress. Whether it be comedy, drama, romance, or thriller, Kriti has demonstrated on multiple occasions that she has pushed herself in many different directions. And that’s precisely why audiences are excited to see what she does next.
