Shortly after becoming the Tata Group’s de facto leader in 2017, Natarajan Chandrasekaran proposed the ‘UniEVerse’ plan, with a strong focus on sustainability. Tata Motors was the lynchpin of this plan, with its electric vehicle ecosystem. But bringing this vision of the UniEVerse to life called for strong linkages with sister companies such as Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, TCS, Tata Digital, Tata Elxsi, Tata Motors Finance, and Tata AutoComp.  Of these, Tata AutoComp (TACO) emerged as the conglomerate’s key partner in its EV journey, ensuring access to cutting-edge drivetrain technology. This strategy aimed to create a comprehensive and integrated approach to electric vehicle development within the Tata Group. And so, when we got a chance to sit down with TACO Chairman Arvind Goel, it was an opportunity we couldn’t miss. From understanding what makes him tick, to what leaders need to get right, and how TACO steered things onto a high growth trajectory, we covered a lot in this brief, but impactful interaction that forms out latest episode of C-Suite Conversations.
