Hemp, derived from the Cannabis sativa plant, is increasingly recognized as a superfood due to its exceptional nutritional profile. Rich in protein, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, hemp seeds offer a complete package of essential nutrients. They support heart health, aid digestion, and may reduce inflammation. But for many, taking the name of hemp conjures images of recreational use and not much else. With tight regulations in place, realising the full potential of the industry will take a multi-faceted effort that educates consumers while demonstrating credible research and industry use cases to those in corridors of power.
We sat down with Yash Kotak and Delzaad Deolaliwala, two of BOHECO’s Co-founders, in our latest episode of C-suite Conversations to better understand hemp’s potential as an industry, the economic potential for farmers, the credible research paving the way for a better future, and the importance of educating people about the clear distinctions between industrial hemp and marijuana in a free-wheeling conversation.
