Swiggy, the on-demand convenience platform, has joined hands with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to offer pre-ordered food delivery services at select railway stations. This initiative aims to enhance the dining experience of train passengers, starting with stations in Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada, with plans to expand to 59 more city stations soon.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was exchanged between Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of IRCTC, and Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace. Passengers can avail of this service by entering their booking PNR on the IRCTC app, selecting the station, and choosing their preferred restaurant for delivery at a specified date and time.

The delivered food will be packed in insulated bags to ensure it remains warm and fresh. Swiggy’s delivery partners will coordinate with passengers, arriving just before delivery time to hand over the food and mark it as delivered.

Jain expressed IRCTC’s commitment to enhancing passenger comfort and convenience, while Kapoor highlighted Swiggy’s mission to bring ease to consumers’ lives. This partnership aims to offer passengers a variety of food options, enhancing their overall train travel experience.
