Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey Reviews SECL Operations and Meets Chhattisgarh Chief Minister

Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines satish Chandra Dubey visited South Eastern Coalfields Limited for a one-day review of the company’s operations, infrastructure Projects and future plans. During the visit, he also met Vishnu deo sai in Raipur to discuss coal production, infrastructure development, logistics connectivity, Energy Security and industrial growth in the state.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the Central and State Governments to speed up development projects, improve ease of operations and create employment opportunities in coal-bearing regions. Dubey appreciated the support of the Chhattisgarh Government towards the coal sector and said the partnership would further strengthen India’s energy security.

At the SECL Headquarters, the Minister chaired a review meeting on coal production, dispatch, quality management, mining safety, digitisation initiatives, environmental sustainability, coal gasification projects, mine closure activities and CSR programmes. Senior officials from the Ministry of Coal and SECL, including SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan were present during the meeting.

The Minister highlighted the importance of safe and sustainable mining, adoption of modern technology and improving operational efficiency. He praised SECL for its contribution towards strengthening the country’s energy security and appreciated the company’s work in production, safety standards, quality assurance and environmental management. He also stressed that CSR activities should continue to focus on the welfare and development of people living in coalfield areas.

During the meeting Harish Duhan said that in the financial year 2026-27, SECL contributed 26.86 million tonnes towards coal india limited achieving the milestone of 100 million tonnes of cumulative coal production. As part of SECL’s digital transformation initiatives, Dubey launched the e-DADAS (Design and Drawings Approval in SECL) Portal and the Hospital Management and Information System (HMIS) Portal.

The e-DADAS portal will help in online approval and monitoring of engineering designs and infrastructure projects, improving transparency and timely execution. The HMIS portal will improve healthcare services in SECL hospitals through digitised patient records and better hospital management.

The Minister also inaugurated a modern 5-Part Hematology Analyzer Unit at the Indira Vihar Health Centre in Bilaspur. The advanced machine will provide faster and more accurate blood testing, helping improve diagnostic services and healthcare delivery. He later reviewed the healthcare facilities at the centre and appreciated SECL’s efforts to strengthen medical infrastructure and quality healthcare services.
