In a major political development ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, renowned educator Avadh Ojha, widely known for his motivational coaching and contributions to UPSC aspirants, officially joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday. His induction into the party was marked by a warm welcome from AAP national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal.
Ojha, whose unique approach to teaching combines historical events, current affairs, and geopolitical trends, has garnered millions of followers across social media platforms. His coaching sessions, particularly for UPSC candidates, have gained immense popularity, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when online education became essential.
A native of Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, Ojha’s journey into education began after multiple attempts at the UPSC exam. After initial setbacks, including a failed attempt at the exam, Ojha found his calling in teaching, starting at a coaching institute in Allahabad. He later moved to Delhi, where he became a prominent figure in UPSC coaching, teaching at renowned institutes and founding his own, IQRA IAS Academy, in Pune in 2019.
Upon joining AAP, Ojha expressed gratitude to Kejriwal and senior leader Manish Sisodia for the opportunity to transition into politics. He emphasized his commitment to improving the country’s educational infrastructure, particularly for competitive exam aspirants. Kejriwal praised Ojha for not only educating young people but also preparing them for career opportunities, highlighting his contribution to shaping the nation’s future.
This move comes as AAP gears up for the upcoming elections, with Ojha’s educational background seen as a valuable asset in furthering the party’s agenda for development in education.
