PM to Launch Key Infrastructure, Rail, and Tourism Projects in Uttar Pradesh

Varanasi/Hardoi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a range of major infrastructure, healthcare, railway, and tourism projects across Uttar Pradesh, aimed at strengthening connectivity, boosting economic growth, and enhancing public welfare.

Healthcare and Tourism Push in Varanasi the Prime Minister will oversee the renovation of a 198-bed hospital and the construction of a 100-bed critical care block, significantly strengthening the region’s healthcare capacity.

Tourism infrastructure will also be upgraded at prominent ghats such as Assi Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, and Namo Ghat, improving amenities for pilgrims and tourists.

To enhance governance and social welfare systems foundation stones will be laid for an Integrated Divisional Office in Ramnagar, a Municipal Corporation office building, and a Government Child Shelter Home along with a Juvenile Justice Board facility.

Additionally, more than Rs 105 crore will be distributed as bonus payments to milk suppliers associated with Banaras Dairy, providing a boost to the rural economy.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for the Varanasi Junction–Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction third and fourth railway line project, which includes a rail-cum-road bridge over the Ganga River.

This project is expected to:
Ease rail congestion
Improve logistics efficiency
Strengthen multimodal connectivity Enhance access to Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Ramnagar, and National Highway-19
It will also strengthen rail connectivity between eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Two new Amrit Bharat Express trains will also be flagged off: Varanasi–Pune (Hadapsar)
Ayodhya–Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus)
These services will offer affordable, modern travel and improve connectivity between Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, while also facilitating easier access to religious destinations such as Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Ganga Expressway to Be Inaugurated in Hardoi, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Ganga Expressway, a major milestone in India’s high-speed road network.

Configuration: 6 lanes (expandable to 8 lanes)
Type: Access-controlled greenfield expressway
Cost: Approx. Rs 36,230 crore


The expressway will pass through 12 districts—Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj—creating a seamless corridor connecting western, central, and eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The expressway will integrate with other major corridors like the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the Jewar Link Expressway, forming a broader high-speed road network across the state.
