The Apex Committee chaired by Chief Minister has approved a comprehensive development plan worth Rs 4,150.46 crore for. The Chief Minister directed that all development works, planned with a vision for the next 50 years should be completed within 30 months. The meeting, held at Mantralaya, was attended by Deputy Chief Minister , Forest Minister, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister, MLA, Chief Secretary and senior officials.
Fadnavis said that is one of Maharashtra’s most important religious and cultural pilgrimage centres. Every year lakhs of Warkaris visit during Ashadhi, Kartiki, Chaitri and Maghi wari to seek darshan of Lord Vitthal and Rukmini. Considering the rising number of devotees and existing challenges such as traffic congestion, road infrastructure and urban pressure he stressed the need for planned and integrated development.
He added that the project should provide a clean safe and hassle free experience for pilgrims while ensuring high-quality and sustainable infrastructure. The Chief Minister also instructed that residents shopkeepers and tenants affected by the project must be compensated promptly and sufficient funds for land acquisition should be made available to avoid delays.
Project Highlights (as per proposal by Solapur District Collector S. Karthikeyan):
- Rs 735.80 crore for crowd management corridors conservation of temples and mathas, livelihood support and pilgrim facilities
- Rs 1,387.91 crore for development of the Nagar Pradakshina route riverfront beautification parking and commercial complexes city improvements, roads, bridges and palkhi halting points.
- Rs 2,026.75 crore for land acquisition, rehabilitation and compensation.
The Apex Committee has approved the entire integrated development plan of Rs 4,150.46 crore.
