MP Sanjay Dina Patil Holds Separate Discussion with PM Modi; Seeks Faster Development in Northeast Mumbai

New Delhi, August 7: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Dina Patil held a separate discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday, raising issues concerning pending development projects and civic needs in Northeast Mumbai.

Patil attended a special breakfast meeting hosted by Prime Minister Modi at his invitation, along with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and seven Shiv Sena MPs. During the interaction, Patil strongly highlighted the need for central support and necessary approvals to expedite key development projects in his constituency.

He discussed issues related to infrastructure, transportation, railways, civic amenities and other pending projects, stressing that the growing population and increasing pressure on Mumbai’s infrastructure require coordinated efforts by the Centre and Maharashtra government.

Prime Minister Modi assured the MP that necessary efforts would be made to prioritise development works in the constituency. He also advised Patil to directly approach the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) if any hurdles arise in implementing development projects.

The meeting also assumed political significance amid ongoing developments concerning the Shiv Sena, the party’s bow-and-arrow symbol case, the upcoming Cabinet expansion and coordination among NDA allies.

Patil said the meeting was primarily used to put Northeast Mumbai’s development agenda directly before the Prime Minister and seek faster approvals and support for pending as well as future projects.
