MBBS & BDS Admission Process for 2026-27 Begins in Maharashtra; Registration Open Till August 12

Mumbai, August 6: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has commenced the centralized admission process for MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2026-27 from August 6, 2026. Eligible candidates who have qualified the NEET-UG 2026 examination can register online for the admission process. The last date for registration is August 12, 2026, while the first merit list will be published on August 23, 2026.

The CET Cell has urged all NEET-qualified candidates to complete their registration within the stipulated time. Applicants must upload colour scanned copies of all original required documents on the admission portal. In addition, candidates are required to appear in person at the designated verification centre with all original documents for verification.

Candidates applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must submit a valid disability eligibility certificate issued by the Medical Board. Those claiming reservation under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) must produce a valid EWS certificate for the academic year 2026-27.

Reserved category candidates are required to submit their caste certificate, caste validity certificate, and Non-Creamy Layer certificate wherever applicable. However, OBC and SEBC candidates have been granted an extension of six months from the date of CAP registration to submit their caste validity certificate.

Candidates applying under the NRI quota must register on the Foreign Candidate Registration Portal by August 11, 2026, for eligibility verification. NRI candidates will be eligible only for the 15 per cent Institutional Quota seats based on merit.

Key Changes Introduced This Year

The CET Cell has introduced significant changes in the admission process this year:

• Uploading all mandatory documents has been made compulsory. Failure to upload the required documents will result in the candidate’s application not being considered for admission.
• Seats remaining vacant after CAP rounds, along with Institutional Quota seats, which were previously filled directly by colleges, will now be filled online by the CET Cell, ensuring greater transparency in the admission process.

• Online Choice Filling: August 19 to August 22, 2026 (up to 5:30 pm)
