The letter also pointed to alleged shortcomings in passenger safety measures, including inadequate driver verification procedures lack of proper insurance coverage insufficient safeguards for women passengers and the absence of an effective emergency response system. The government has expressed concern that these deficiencies could put commuters’ lives at risk.
