India-flagged liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier Green Asha has successfully berthed at the liquid terminal of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), operated by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), after transiting the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz.

The vessel carried approximately 15,400 tonnes of LPG and completed its voyage without incident. Authorities confirmed that the ship, its cargo, and all crew members are safe and secure. This marks the first LPG vessel to arrive at JNPA since the escalation of hostilities involving Iran, the United States, and Israel an event that has significantly impacted maritime traffic through one of the world’s most critical energy corridors.

The successful passage and berthing of Green Asha underscores the resilience and operational continuity of global shipping amid heightened geopolitical tensions. It also reinforces India’s ability to maintain stable energy supply chains, ensuring uninterrupted availability of essential LPG across the country. Industry officials noted that the development reflects robust coordination between maritime authorities, energy companies, and security agencies, enabling safe navigation through high-risk zones while safeguarding national energy interests.
