‘Khidki: A Soulful Literary Recital’ to be Staged in Mumbai on July 23

Mumbai, July 22: The Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, will present “Khidki: Ek Manamanatla Abhivachan” (Khidki: A Soulful Literary Recital) on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Mini Theatre, Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

Produced by Guru Productions and Aarti Art Academy, this 56th performance is open to the public free of charge. The event offers audiences a unique blend of literature, theatre, and expressive narration.

Written and performed by renowned author, director, and actor Pradeep Kabre, Khidki presents a thought-provoking journey through everyday life, human relationships, emotions, and social realities. Drawing inspiration from the “windows” of buses, trains, cars, rickshaws, homes, and workplaces, Kabre brings ordinary moments to life through his distinctive storytelling and narration, transforming the recital into an immersive theatrical experience.

The literary work carries a foreword by veteran playwright Gangaram Gavhankar, creator of Vastraharan, and has received widespread appreciation from noted literary figures and artists, including Sh. Na. Navare, Arun Nalawade, Smita Jaykar, Aishwarya Narkar, Sambhaji Sawant, Dr. Anil Bandivadekar, Abhiram Bhadkamkar, and Nitin Tendulkar.

Blending humour, compassion, introspection, and emotional depth, the performance offers audiences an artistic exploration of life’s many perspectives. Its rich literary content, dramatic presentation, and engaging narration promise a memorable experience for viewers of all age groups.

The programme has been conceptualised by Maharashtra’s Minister for Cultural Affairs, Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Adv. Ashish Shelar, and organised under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Kulkarni, Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs. Director of Cultural Affairs Shriram Pande has appealed to citizens to attend the event in large numbers and enjoy this unique cultural presentation.
