Fadnavis slams Rahul Gandhi, throws open challenge to opposition

 launched a strong attack on the opposition after the Women’s Reservation Bill was rejected in Parliament, challenging rival leaders to an open debate and criticizing Congress leader. Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, Fadnavis accused opposition parties of deliberately blocking the bill and betraying women across the country. He said the rejection would significantly impact women’s representation, particularly for those from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

“Had the bill been passed, the number of women in Parliament would have increased from 73 to 273. The opposition has dealt a blow to women’s empowerment,” he said, calling their stance “anti-women.”Fadnavis further alleged that the opposition had no genuine objections but was determined to stop the bill at any cost. He claimed that even when Union Home Minister offered to make amendments quickly, opposition leaders did not respond.

Highlighting the BJP’s record, Fadnavis said the party has given leadership opportunities to women, pointing to former Chief Ministers such as. He added that Congress had not provided similar opportunities.Taking an aggressive stance, Fadnavis issued a public challenge to opposition leaders to debate the bill openly. “Let them explain what is wrong with it. They won’t come forward because they have no answers,” he said, accusing them of creating disruption and avoiding accountability.

Responding to remarks by Rahul Gandhi accusing Prime Minister of betraying women, Fadnavis made a sharp personal attack, saying Gandhi would “win gold in an Olympics of lies.”He also accused Congress of historically undermining the ideology of and failing to support women’s empowerment. Fadnavis added that Gandhi should apologize to women, though he expressed doubt that such an apology would come.
