‘Drug-Free Mumbai’ Campaign to Be Launched by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on July 30

Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha Appeals to Youth and Citizens to Participate Actively

Mumbai, July 29: The Maharashtra Government’s Drug-Free Awareness Campaign will be officially launched on Thursday, July 30, at 11 am at NSCI Dome, Worli, by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister and Chairman of the High-Level Committee for the De-addiction Awareness Campaign, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, has appealed to Mumbaikars, especially youth, students and young citizens, to participate in large numbers and take a pledge to build a drug-free society.

The year-long campaign will include various awareness programmes across Mumbai, focusing on prevention, counselling and promoting positive lifestyle choices. Under the campaign, schools, colleges, counsellors, parents and social organisations will be brought together to create widespread awareness against drug abuse.

The campaign’s key message will be “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life”, aiming to inspire youngsters to adopt a healthy and responsible way of living. Students from educational institutions across Mumbai will also participate through online platforms.

Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Ajit Pawar will be present as chief guests at the launch event. Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Konkan Divisional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal, Mumbai City Collector Anchal Goyal and Mumbai Suburban Collector Saurabh Katiyar, along with other dignitaries, will also attend the programme.

Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said that the government has initiated a comprehensive campaign to prevent youth from falling into drug addiction and spread awareness about de-addiction. He urged citizens and social organisations to actively participate in making Mumbai a safer, healthier and drug-free city.
