People-Centric Administrative Design to Be Prioritized in Air India Building Renovation: CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, August 3: The Maharashtra government will renovate the iconic Air India Building to create a more efficient and citizen-friendly administrative hub, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Monday.

Chairing a presentation on the proposed redevelopment at his official residence, Varsha, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that the renovated building is designed with a people-centric administrative approach. He instructed the Chief Secretary to hold detailed discussions with concerned departments and prepare a comprehensive plan for relocating suitable government offices to the building.

Fadnavis emphasized that the selection of departments should be based on administrative efficiency as well as public convenience, ensuring easier access to government services for citizens. A final decision on the relocation plan will be taken after detailed consultations.

The presentation was attended by Public Works Minister Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale, Minister of State Indranil Naik, Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, senior officials from the Finance, Public Works, and General Administration Departments, along with architects who showcased the proposed renovation plans.
