His leadership in this role earned him the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), which was awarded by the President of India in January 2025.
His career has also included significant responsibilities in human resources and organisational administration. As Officer Commanding Troops and Administrative Officer, he managed HR, welfare, transportation, and administrative operations for nearly 3,000 personnel. At Army Headquarters, Colonel Roy served as Additional Director – Personnel & Organisation, where he was involved in strategic HR governance, leadership selection, promotions, and executive talent management. He also contributed to the officer selection process for women officers in the Indian Army and helped establish a dedicated help desk to improve transparency and the overall experience for officers.

Across more than two decades in the Indian Army, Colonel Roy has held diverse leadership roles spanning logistics, human resources, operations, governance, and technology-led transformation.
