The buzz around India’s Got Latent is officially back, and this time, it’s not just coming from fans or leaks, but directly from Netflix itself.

Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, was already making waves on social media, but now that Netflix India posted a tease asking users to “drop lemon and spice emojis” in the comments. The post was not a confirmation of anything; however, the time, tone, and the reference were all clues enough for people to go crazy over the possibility of new episodes of India’s Got Latent being available on the streaming giant.

Now it becomes even more interesting because at the same time Samay Raina is posting teasers from behind the scenes and announcing that they are currently filming, suddenly Netflix joins in, adding credence to the theory that an announcement of a formal partnership may soon be made.

For diehard fans of the show, the potential for this movement is massive. The premiere season of India’s Got Latent (IGL) created a buzz throughout Indian culture due to its raw, candid style of comedy and how chaotic it was. Most notably, IGL gained notoriety for having a very unpredictable format; therefore, it makes sense that fans are currently divided on how Netflix takes the show in terms of its potential for success.

On the one hand, there is excitement over how large-scale Netflix will be able to take the show by way of celebrity talent, higher quality equipment, and international reach. On the other hand, fans of IGL are truly worried about how much of that original chaotic loose style will be preserved in an OTT platform if Netflix is not presented in the typical YouTube format.

To add fuel to the fire, there have been numerous fans and people within the industry discussing the possibility of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari being featured as promotional guests in the upcoming season linked to Alpha promotions, though no official word has been released on this yet.

In conclusion, however, the greatest takeaway currently remains the same: both Netflix and Samay Raina have clearly alluded to some sort of announcement coming down the pike. Whether this is a full 2nd season deal or only a promotional collaboration, only time will tell.

Until an official announcement drops, India’s Got Latent remains exactly what its name suggests right now: uncertain, chaotic, and impossible to ignore.
