‘Hanuman Ansh’ box office: Neem Karoli Babafilm created history, crosses Rs. 100 crore despite Rs. 2 crore budget
Vishal Chaturvedi’s religious drama ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has come to be one of the biggest surprises at the box office in 2026. The film is based on the life and teachings of spiritual master Neem Karoli Baba and it has achieved a feat that one few expected from it when it released at cinema halls with a limited release and hardly any major stars.
The film has crossed the Rs. 100 crore barrier in India, although it was made with a budget of less than Rs. 2 crore as per reports. This amazing performance can be attributed to good publicity and growing interest amongst viewers which have converted it into a bona fida phenomenon.
‘Hanuman Ansh’ had an unexpected slow start at the box office. Its opening day collections were approximately Rs. 10 lakh and the film managed to earn about Rs. 1.48 crore in its first two weeks. However, its fortunes turned around after week three and audience reactions started pouring in.
The film’s fifth weekend proved to be its strongest phase yet. On Day 30, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ earned an estimated Rs. 16.50 crore, taking its India net collection to Rs. 99.38 crore. It then crossed the Rs. 100 crore milestone during its fifth weekend.
The film experienced an even larger growth after thirty-one days. As trade watchers estimated, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has garnered Rs. 22.75 crore net in India on Sunday, the highest single-day record of revenue since its release. The net collection of the film in India was then marked at Rs. 122.13 crore.
One of the striking aspects of this movie is the disparity between its open and close figures. It was released in very few screens with no strong cast behind it although it attracted the interest of many.
After achieving such good economic performance, the film’s gained positive reputation played the key role in its advances over competitors.
With Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand in the leading roles, the movie gained hearts and minds of the spectators due to its religious plot that presented Neem Karoli Baba.
With its India gross already at around Rs. 144 crore, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ is now marching towards the Ra. 150 crore mark, making its theatrical run one of the most unexpected success stories of the year.
