There is something very rare and powerful about actors who have made their origins on the outside edges of a scene. For example, look at Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s story. Although his initial performance was as a criminal in the background with no recognition, after many years of perseverance and performing in the theatre, and years of being a part of different films, he has now become one of the most celebrated and respected actors within Indian cinema, and has performed in both feature films and web series that were specifically geared toward showcasing his incredible talent.

Similarly, Jaideep Ahlawat spent many years working in small supporting roles in various films, including Khatta Meetha and Gangs of Wasseypur. Over this time, he developed his craft until finally his lead performance as Hathiram Chaudhary in Paatal Lok made him famous. His performance not only broke the pattern of unnoticed actors, but it also redefined the definition of a leading man and how they can become successful at the same time.

Divyenndu Sharma is another example of rising in the industry with multiple small parts leading to one major role on screen.
