With the commencement of the New Year, markets are expected to take positive turn with upcoming trade talks, results seasons, and many more happenings taking place soon. The Muhurat trading session marks a special occasion for investors and the Indian Stock Exchanges, albeit growth was a bit silent and flat post Diwali as the Sensex and Nifty respectively settled around 63 and 25 points higher.

While commenting on the auspicious moment, NSE MD & CEO Ashish Chauhan said, “Today marks the commencement of the New Vikram Samvat 2082. In many ways the past samvat was full of uncertainties due to global tariff policy, geo political issues and several other developments.”

Dhanteras has always been important festival for Indians to mark the occasion. Many make it more memorable by purchasing goods, automobiles, and more. Doubtlessly, the GST Utsav has also played a vital role this festive season. For automobile companies Dhanteras, has always been special, with major manufacturers aiming to deliver a record 51,000 cars this season as against 41,000 last year. Shailesh Chandra, MD & CEO Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., struck a bright note, saying that Tata Motors have delivered around 1 Lakh cars, a 33% rise as against last year during the same Navratri to Diwali period.

With things moving upwards as we build towards a lengthy festive season and New Year, things are looking up for Indian consumers and industry.
