AI’s trust crisis: Why credibility is the next competitive advantage

Artificial intelligence has significantly changed how businesses develop content, analyse data, and make decisions. Previous tasks which used to take days can now be completed in just a few minutes. The problem arises as AI-generated content is becoming more prevalent and it now becomes difficult to determine the difference between what is real and what is fake. That’s where credibility is coming into play. Companies that use AI together with transparency, human knowledge, and trusted information will be trusted more than those relying solely on automation.

AI is no longer the differentiator

“In today’s world, being capable of using AI technology is not enough. All types of firms can use AI tools for content creation, data processing, and complex tasks. The difference between companies resides in the manner of responsible and transparent application of this technology. Stakeholders such as clients, employees, and business partners demand that companies provide them with proof of fairness and accuracy of AI-powered decisions to gain their confidence in technology,” says Aksheshkumar Ajaykumar Shah, Founder and CEO of Cogniify.ai.

Indeed, responsible AI is an innovation accelerator. “In a time where everything can be created by AI in no time, everything comes down to trust. The use of Responsible AI is much more than merely sticking to the norm; it is about creating trust. By focusing on trust, transparency and using AI as a model, in turn helps clients, partners, and authorities to adopt AI quicker,” commented Prerak Manish Shah, Co-founder and Technology Lead in Data Infrastructure and AI at Cogniify.ai

Prerak went on to reiterate how trust will influence customers. “Customers, investors, and business partners are relying more on organizations that are open, responsible and accountable when it comes to creating and employing AI. Showing how artificial intelligence makes decisions, practicing efficient governance and providing verifiable proof greatly influence the reputation of a company in the AI-dominated world.”

And through it all, the trust gap is growing, as Aksheshkumar Ajaykumar Shah tells us. “While AI is supposed to produce high-quality outputs, automate processes, and quicken decision-making, the population becomes more skeptical about AI’s outputs and its reliability, transparency, and accuracy. The gap between the AI’s capabilities and the people’s trust keeps widening. In the new reality, reliability means a real competitive advantage.”

Explainability is becoming a business requirement

“As the use of AI becomes common in business operations, people begin to care more about knowing the explanation behind the results rather than just getting the answer. All decisions, be it a loan approval, hiring of an employee or making a medical suggestion, need to be justified and clear. When AI can clearly communicate how the result was achieved, it builds trust in customers, employees and regulators. It means that in the era of the development of AI credibility becomes as important as innovation itself.” pointed out Aksheshkumar Ajaykumar Shah, Founder and CEO of Cogniify.ai

As one might imagine, the future belongs to trusted AI. Prerak underlined this strategic shift, saying, “As generative AI enables creation of content, code, and media at ease with just a few clicks, technology faces a new challenge: trust. Similar to content, credibility has emerged as a big concern in the age where anyone can produce information in seconds. It will be the organizations that manage to prove authenticity and ensure reliability in their AI tools that will be able to survive.”

When artificial intelligence grows even more prevalent in our everyday lives and in business activities, the most important aspect of differentiating AI will be trust. Companies that pay attention to transparency, accountability and human judgment are going to win the trust of users. These companies will be successful not because they create the most intelligent AI but because of the most trustworthy one.
