Finnair Announces Anupam Vig as new General Manager of Indian Market

    Finnair, the national airline of Finland, is pleased to announce the appointment of Anupam Vig as the new General Manager for India, effective January 1, 2024. 

    Anupam Vig is a dynamic professional with over two decades of experience in the airline industry. His expertise lies in developing and implementing innovative sales strategies that drive growth and expand market presence. Throughout his career, Anupam has demonstrated a deep understanding of industry dynamics and consumer behavior, consistently delivering results by identifying business opportunities. His leadership will help further Finnair’s goal of providing top-notch service and connectivity to customers traveling from India to Finland and Nordic destinations.

    1. BharatPe promotes Nalin Negi as Chief Executive Officer

    BharatPe, a prominent fintech company, has announced the promotion of Nalin Negi to the position of CEO. This decision comes after Negi’s successful tenure as the interim CEO and Chief Financial Officer, during which he played a crucial role in driving the company’s growth and strategic advancements across various business sectors. 

    Negi took over as interim CEO in January 2023, following the resignation of former CEO Suhail Sameer. Under Negi’s guidance, BharatPe experienced an impressive 182% increase in revenue from operations during the fiscal year 2023. Additionally, October 2023 marked a significant milestone for the company as it achieved positive EBITDA for the first time. 

    In his new role as CEO, Negi has outlined his priorities for the company. These include a strong focus on sustained profitability, expanding lending operations, and introducing innovative products tailored specifically for merchants. With Negi at the helm, BharatPe is poised to continue its upward trajectory in the fintech industry. 

    1. L&T Precision Engineering appoints Santosh Rai as Head HR 

    Past: L&T Defence as Joint General Manager-Human Resources. 

    Present: Head of Human Resource in Larsen & Toubro 

    Santosh Rai has been appointed as the Head of Human Resources at L&T Precision Engineering and Systems. Prior to this role, Rai served as the joint General Manager at L&T Defence IC. 

    In a LinkedIn post, Rai announced his excitement about his new position as Head of Human Resources at Larsen & Toubro Precision Engineering and Systems IC. With 24 years of experience in the field of human resources and industrial relations in manufacturing and utilities, Rai brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. He also has hands-on experience in establishing green field facilities. 

    Rai’s journey with L&T began in 2010 when he joined as the plant head – HR. During his time there, he was responsible for talent acquisition for the green field plant, implemented an efficient HR system, and established a strong framework for engaging contract manpower. 

    Before joining L&T, Rai worked at BSES Rajdhani Power, Goodyear India, and Samtel Color. He holds a Master’s in Personnel Management from Savitribai Phule Pune University. 

    1. Rakesh Mehta is recruited by Uno Minda as CHRO  

    Past: Sr. Vice President & Head – Human Resources at JSW Energy 

    Present: Chief Human Resource Officer  

    Uno Minda, a global provider of exclusive automotive solutions, has appointed Rakesh Mehta as their new Chief Human Resource Officer, effective from April 12th. 

    With over thirty years of experience, Mehta has joined Uno Minda after serving as the Senior Vice President & Head of Human Resources at JSW Energy. He is recognized for his role in leading Cultural Transformation by developing and implementing top-notch HR practices in the Energy sector. 

    Mehta holds an MSc degree from Barkatullah University in Bhopal, a Diploma in Labour Laws & Labour Welfare from Poona University in Pune, and a Masters in Personnel Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Pune. Prior to his current position, he has held various positions at companies such as Asian Paints, General Motors, and Reliance Industries. 

    1. [24]7.ai promotes Nina Nair as a new Chief Human Resource Officer

    Present: CHRO for global BPO business at [24]7.ai 

    [24]7.ai, a company that offers digital business services and customer experience (CX) products and solutions, has promoted Nina Nair to the position of Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) for their Global BPO business. In this new role, Nina will be responsible for overseeing all people-related practices for the Global BPO Business. 

    Previously, Nina held the position of Chief People Officer at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, a national institution focused on education, research, practice, and capacity development, from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, she served on the board of trustees for the Live Love Laugh Foundation, an NGO dedicated to raising awareness about mental health, from 2015 to 2018.

    1. Sharp India appoints Sujai Karampuri as CEO

    Sharp India, a subsidiary of Sharp Corporation in Japan, has announced the appointment of Sujai Karampuri as its new CEO. Sujai’s tenure began in March and he brings with him a wealth of experience in the telecommunications industry, along with a proven track record of establishing successful businesses and assembling high-performing teams. 

    In his new role, Sujai will take charge of driving the growth of Sharp’s display business and enhancing the brand’s presence in India. Additionally, he has been tasked with forging strategic partnerships for the manufacturing and technology transfer of the company’s engineering products, components, and solutions. 

    Prior to joining Sharp India, Sujai held various prominent positions within the Telangana state government. He served as the Director of Electronics and Semiconductor, as well as the CEO of T-Works and Managing Director of Telangana Fiber Grid Corporation. 

    Sujai’s extensive expertise and leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and expansion of Sharp India, further strengthening its position in the market. 

    1. Ankur Kumar has joined Essar as the Chief Executive Officer 

    Past: Chief Executive Officer at ACME Solar Holdings 

    Present: CEO of Essar for its renewables business division.    

    Ankur Kumar has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Essar Power’s renewables business division. With a remarkable 24 years of experience in the Renewable Energy and Public Infrastructure sectors, Ankur brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new position. Previously, Ankur held the role of Chief Executive Officer at ACME Solar Holdings, where he played a key role in expanding the company’s operations into green hydrogen and ammonia businesses, while also strengthening their presence in various geographical locations. Prior to that, he worked with TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis. In his new capacity, Ankur will work closely with the Essar Power Board and Leadership Teams to develop a robust portfolio in renewable energy and recruit other essential talents to advance Essar Power’s green energy initiatives.
