Taking the Covid-19 vaccine? Here are some dos and don’ts

Published

on

With the world reeling under the impact of the Coronavirus, it’s essential we take the vaccination as soon as possible. Here are the precautions to be kept in mind before you take the jab.

Age criteria

People who are either 18 or above 18 can only get vaccinated. No one less than this age is yet allowed to get the shot.

Double down

It has to be administered in two doses. The second dose has to be taken after an interval of at least 14 days. The dose has to be similar to the first dose that they have got. For example, if a person has got the dose of Covishield, then he or she has to wait for at least 14 days and then get a dose of the same vaccine again. Any irregularity or carelessness can lead to a severe health condition. So, one needs to be disciplined about this fact.

Expectant mothers, look away

No pregnant and lactating women or women who are not sure about their pregnancy, cannot be part of this vaccination drive.

Get well, then get vaccinated

A person who is already sick is strictly not allowed to get the dose either. They need to wait for 4-8 weeks after they get better and then only, they can get vaccinated. Taking this casually can lead to grave consequences.

Whoever is eligible despite the above facts should get vaccinated ASAP and motivate people around them to do the same. We must take care of ourselves and others around us, with everyone needing to get vaccinated so that everything can be somewhat normal again.
